Troop 80

Boy Scout Troop 80 is based in Mountain View California, attracting scouts from Sunnyvale, Los Altos, Palo Alto, Saratoga, Cupertino, and even Fremont. In the troop, scouts have plentiful opportunities to learn leadership and organizational skills through classic outdoor activities. This small but very active troop enjoys backpacking, rock climbing, orienteering, canoeing, and more, as well as service projects for the community. Troop 80 (aka The Rock Climbing Troop or The Tarp Tent Troop) loves hearty traditions.
Rank advancement, merit badges and other skills are coached and encouraged, but the scouts set their pace and are responsible for their own growth. Advancement is not handed to them. Instead, they learn that work and effort result in accomplishments. It is truly a scout led troop with an Eagle rate more than twice the national average.
